Google Maps — About
Nine product claims, three of them visible: a marketing page that files most of its own pitch behind tabs.

The teardown
The about page is a single centered white column selling a product that never appears on it as itself. Every screenshot is a phone — Ask Maps, immersive navigation, a saved list of ramen shops — on a page you are almost certainly reading on a desktop, and the only two buttons above the fold both say Try now and both go to the map. Under the hero, a three-item jump nav names the whole argument: Ask Maps, Navigation, Lists. Each of those sections is a stack of three claims where only the selected one shows its paragraph, so of the nine things the page has to say, six are one-line headings until you click them. That choice, plus sections pinned while their video plays, is why the page runs 5,513 pixels tall and still holds a lot of empty white. The close is a download block with both store badges and a QR code under each — the desktop page's real conversion is getting the phone out.
