About the Collective
TYPENORMCollective is where UX professionals exchange ideas, answer each other's questions and tell us what to build next. Reading is open to everyone. Taking part needs an account.
The parts
- Public roadmap
What we're building now, next, and later — projected live from how we actually work.
- Feature requests & bug reports
See what the community is asking for, or tell us what's broken.
- Questions & answers
Practical UX questions answered by practitioners, organised by topic. Open to read; posting is invite-only during the expert beta.
- Workshops & events
Free live workshops run by TYPENORM — RSVP for the next one, or catch up on recordings and the Q&A they started.
- Lab orders
Paid work posted by the seven Labs — research sessions, audits, capture batches. Claim one when your reputation clears the bar.
- Grades
The six-step ladder: what each grade takes and what it unlocks.
- Member profile
Claim a permanent handle and get a public profile at /collective/members/<handle>.
From request to shipped feature
- Submit. A signed-in member submits a feature request or a bug report. Requests are public.
- Vote. Other members upvote the requests they want too.
- Triage. TYPENORM reviews requests. A request is planned, declined with a public reason, or merged into a similar request.
- Build. A planned request goes onto our roadmap and gets built.
- Ship. When the work is done, the request is marked shipped and the person who submitted it gets an email.
Votes help us see what matters, but they are not a ballot: TYPENORM decides what it builds (terms of use, section 11). Follow progress on the public roadmap.
How reputation works
You earn reputation when your contributions help others. Reputation is never spent, and it is never shown or paid out as money.
| Action | Points | When |
|---|---|---|
| Request shipped | +10 | A feature request you submitted is built and marked shipped. |
| Upvote received | +1 | Another member upvotes something you posted. Votes on your own content don't count. |
| Answer accepted | +15 | The person who asked a question accepts your answer. Paid once per answer. |
Community rules
What is not allowed, what happens after a report and how to appeal a decision are on one page.
