Udemy

A sprawling course marketplace sorted by ratings and run length.

Udemy is a marketplace first and a school second, and the interface makes that plain. Browsing means scanning grids of course cards stamped with star ratings, enrollment counts, total video hours, and bestseller badges, the same trust signals you would see shopping for a product. Faceted filters let you narrow by level, duration, language, and rating, treating courses like inventory. Inside a course, a collapsible curriculum sidebar lists every lecture with checkboxes and runtimes, and the player remembers your spot across sessions. The recurring friction is the catalog itself: thousands of overlapping courses of wildly uneven quality, where the ranking signals do heavy lifting because there is no editorial gatekeeping. Constant discount countdowns manufacture urgency on nearly every page, eroding trust in the listed price.
