TikTok collapsed the feed into one item. You don't scan a grid or a list; you get a single full-screen video and swipe up for the next, which makes the choice for you. That interaction, vertical swipe through an algorithmically chosen sequence, is the platform's whole thesis, and the For You ranking is so central that the follow graph is almost vestigial. The right-rail stack of like, comment, share, and creator avatar is now the genre's default control cluster. The comment sheet slides up over the playing video so you never leave the clip. It is ruthlessly effective and nearly frictionless, which is also the critique: there is no natural stopping cue, no sense of a feed's end, and the design offers the user almost no handle on what comes next.
