Skillshare

Project-based creative classes browsed like a video feed.

Skillshare leans into creative, project-based learning and presents it like a streaming service: thumbnail-heavy rows of classes grouped by discipline, with hover-to-preview clips and instructor faces front and center. Each class pairs short lessons with a hands-on project, and the workspace tab where students post their finished work is treated as a first-class part of the interface, not a buried forum. The tone is casual and the video pacing brisk, built for following along rather than passing exams. Where it gets thin is structure: with no grades, deadlines, or mastery tracking, momentum depends entirely on the learner, and the same low friction that makes browsing pleasant also makes it easy to collect classes you never finish. Discovery favors trending creative topics over depth.
