Research Flow
How Hotjar pitches behavior research to teams without a research team — from a homepage that leads with the Contentsquare merger rather than a heatmap, through the surveys page that prices the merger as free upside, to a pricing page that has left the domain entirely.

Three bands of branding stack up before the headline starts: a blue bar announcing the Contentsquare merger, a strip carrying all three wordmarks (Contentsquare, Heap, hotjar), and a nav logo that now reads 'hotjar by Contentsquare'. Then the hero says the same thing a fourth time — 'Hotjar has evolved into something more powerful' — with the reassurance folded into the news: 'Everything you know and love about Hotjar, plus so much more.' That repetition tells you who the page is written for. It is not addressed to someone wondering what a heatmap is; it is addressed to an existing user who arrived worried. The hero image is a logo lockup on maroon rather than the product, which is a real cost — a page that used to open on a heatmap now opens on an org chart. The old pitch still closes the fold: two buttons, 'no credit card required', and 1.3+ million websites as proof.
