Genshin Impact runs a polished open-world interface — a draggable map with teleport waypoints, a stamina wheel for climbing and gliding, and an elemental-reaction system surfaced through clean status icons — across phone, console, and PC, with a control scheme that adapts gracefully to each. The exploration and combat HUD is restrained and readable. Then there's the wish system: the gacha banner is a separate, heavily produced screen with a featured-character spotlight, a rotating limited-time timer, and pity counters tracking how close you are to a guaranteed pull. The contrast is stark. A serene world built to invite slow wandering shares its menus with a probabilistic spend mechanic dressed in celebratory animation. Both interfaces are excellent at their jobs, which is exactly what makes the seam between them notable.
